Biography
My name is Nino, and I am a psychiatrist working with adult patients. I manage a broad range of conditions, including anxiety and mood disorders(Major depression, Bipolar disorders, Cyclothymia-Dysthymia), schizophrenia spectrum and psychotic disorders, personality disorders(Borderline Personality Disorder, OCPD), sleep disturbances, acute stress reactions, dissociative disorders(Derealization-depersonalization disorder), and neurodevelopmental conditions such as ADHD and autism spectrum disorder. My approach is grounded in creating a safe and non-judgmental therapeutic environment where patients feel heard and respected. I prioritize early identification of emerging symptoms and timely intervention to prevent clinical deterioration. Treatment plans are individualized and evidence-based, with careful consideration of efficacy, tolerability, and side-effect profiles. Psychoeducation and the identification of psychosocial stressors are integral to supporting long-term stability and reducing relapse.
My clinical experience includes working with patients from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, which enables me to tailor treatment to each individual’s personal and social needs. This includes work in underserved settings both locally and internationally, including a volunteering program in Nairobi, Kenya, as a mental health counselor across different age groups. Locally, I have extensive work experience in community psychiatry as part of a psychiatric mobile response team, providing acute assessment and de-escalation of mental health crises.
I place strong emphasis on ongoing medical education and staying up-to-date with evidence-based practice. This includes participation in an externship program in the United States, where I gained experience in the management of treatment-resistant depression, including Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and esketamine-based treatments.
Alongside my clinical work, I am involved in medical education as an invited lecturer at Alte University, and I am engaged in research in collaboration with Imperial College London, focusing on the development of genetic and molecular approaches to schizophrenia treatment.
